Early Preview Of The 2010 Gloaming Stakes

August 23rd, 2010

The Group Three Gloaming Stakes (1800m) will light up Sydney’s Rosehill Gardens Racecourse on September 18, as it features predominantly on Tea Rose Day.

While the $150,000 Group Two Tea Rose Stakes (1500m) headlines proceedings, the Gloaming Stakes is another highlight and will pay well to the winning punter through Ladbrokes.com.au.

Drawing in three-year-olds to compete at set weights, the $250,000 stakes are traditionally fought for between emerging stars of the spring.

Three-year-old Sasa could be competing against her male counterparts if she does start in the 2010 Gloaming Stakes.

The Encosta De Lago filly ran eighth in her first up jump this spring, racing other females in the Group Three The Run To The Rose (1300m) earlier this month.

Of her five career starts, Sasa has won one and placed in another two, accumulating $87,050 in prize money.

Another possible starter in the 2010 Gloaming Stakes is the lightly raced Private Label.

The emerging stayer has won his last two starts, although has never raced further than 1550 metres, and so the 1800 metre Gloaming Stakes distance may prove too much for the gelding.

Also taking place at Rosehill on Tea Rose Day will be the Group Two Premiere Stakes (1200m), the Group Two Shannon Stakes (1500m) and the Group Two Hill Stakes (1900m).

So if you are looking to wager on the races storming the Sydney track come September 18 then make sure you’re signed up with Ladbrokes.com.au. Then you know you will be getting the best odds and markets come raceday!
